Fruits of Solidarity eGen is a cooperative that supports small-scale farmers and consumers in developing direct and long-term trading relationships. Our goal is to offer high-quality Mediterranean products at fair prices. We work without intermediaries and avoid costly certifications or extensive marketing. The cooperative simplifies the import process by pooling orders, coordinating logistics, and acting as a central interface between producers and consumers – significantly reducing effort, costs, and resources on both sides.
We are founding this cooperative out of the conviction that trade can only be sustainable and just when it combines social, ecological, and economic responsibility.
From the founding declaration, 2025
Beyond supporting the economic interests of our members, our cooperative also creates social value by providing funding for non-profit projects in the regions where our producers are based. Fruits of Solidarity therefore sees itself not only as a trading community, but also as part of local struggles and social movements that aim to inspire long-term positive change for society and the environment.
Our cooperative is open to everyone who wants to actively help shape solidarity-based economic practices – whether as a member, active supporter, or simply as a conscious consumer.
For us, solidarity-based trade means more than fair purchasing. It creates direct, responsible relationships between the people who produce food and those who consume it.
Consumers learn exactly where the products come from, under what conditions they are produced, and how prices are determined. Producers can focus on their core work, while the cooperative takes over distribution and marketing. Membership also enables democratic participation in shaping trade.
A portion of the proceeds regularly flows into educational and cultural projects, non-profit initiatives, and self-help structures in Greece and other regions where our products originate. In doing so, we promote not only sustainable agriculture, but also social cohesion and self-determined local development.
